Lesley Stahl reports on computer viruses that propagate on the Internet and infect PCs, which enable their creators often called “cyber gangs” to learn the information they need to electronically rob bank accounts.
Intel’s announced this week its latest batch of Nehalem-based Xeon processors, the single-socket 3500 and dual-socket 5500 series for servers and workstations. We’ve already heard about 5500 / 3500-equipped Lenovo and Dell workstations, but if that doesn’t suit you, Intel promises over 230 systems are in the pipeline from companies such as Cisco, Fujitsu, HP, IBM, among others.
It’s finally here, and even a few minutes early. Skype for iPhone is now available in the US iTunes store, free of charge. We’ve heard great thing from the folks in Japan who’ve been fiddling with it for the last twelve hours, and so far it’s sounding pretty good for us, too, with only minor hiccups. Not sure if it’s a glitch, but despite what we heard earlier, we seem to be able to dial out while on 3G and not over WiFi (at least running OS 3.0 beta). Google Discloses Privacy Glitch
Google disclosed Saturday that it shared a very small number of online documents with users who weren’t authorized to see them.
The privacy glitch, caused by a software bug, affected just a tiny fraction of documents — an estimated less than .05% — wrote Jennifer Mazzon, Google Docs product manager, on a corporate blog. Google notified users affected by the bug on Friday and reversed the mistake, she said.

DropBox – A great way to share files on multiple computers.
DropBox has to be one of the easiest ways to share files on multiple computers. After you install DropBox, there is a folder called “My Dropbox” located in your documents folder. When you place a file in that folder, it will be uploaded to the web and synchronized across multiple computers, if you have DropBox setup for them too. Facebook users are at risk from malicious hackers targeting the site, online security experts warned.
Account holders have been hit by several different hacking attempts in the last week, as thieves try to capitalize on the trust users place in the service.
