Computerworld – Samsung Corp. said during an interview today that it is testing a new consumer-class solid state drive (SSD) with computer makers that’s about one-third the size of a business card and that would plug directly into an internal PCI Express (PCIe) slot in a desktop, laptop or netbook.
Samsung told Computerworld at the Storage Networking World show that its new SSD conforms to the new mini-SATA (mSATA) interface that the SATA International Organization (SATA-IO) announced at Intel’s Developer’s Forum last month.
Computerworld – Intel has confirmed that its new consumer-class X25-M and X18-M solid state-disk drives (SSDs) suffer from data corruption issues and said it has pulled back shipments to resellers.
The new line of X25-M (2.5-inch) and X18-M (1.8-inch) SSDs are based on a joint venture with Micron and used that company’s 34-nanometer lithography technology. That process allows for a denser, higher capacity product that brings with it a lower price tag than Intel’s previous offerings, which were based on 50-nanometer lithography technology.

Google Discloses Privacy Glitch
Google disclosed Saturday that it shared a very small number of online documents with users who weren’t authorized to see them.
The privacy glitch, caused by a software bug, affected just a tiny fraction of documents — an estimated less than .05% — wrote Jennifer Mazzon, Google Docs product manager, on a corporate blog. Google notified users affected by the bug on Friday and reversed the mistake, she said.

DropBox has to be one of the easiest ways to share files on multiple computers. After you install DropBox, there is a folder called “My Dropbox” located in your documents folder. Facebook users are at risk from malicious hackers targeting the site, online security experts warned.
Account holders have been hit by several different hacking attempts in the last week, as thieves try to capitalize on the trust users place in the service.
