The Conficker Internet worm could strike at infected computers around the world on April 1, a security expert warned Monday.
Conficker is a sophisticated piece of malicious computer software, or malware, that installs itself on a Windows PC’s hard drive via specially written Web pages. It then conceals itself on a computer.

So take note when Microsoft announces an update to the Web-dominating software favored by your IT department. When the clock strikes 12:00 noon in New York, Microsoft says it’ll release its much anticipated Internet Explorer 8 software to the world. Out of beta, Steve Ballmer claims that IE 8, “gets people to the information they need, fast, and provides protection that no other browser can match.” Time will tell, eh hax0rs?

After hearing of the thousands (hell,
two thousands!) of
bug fixes and enhancements that Windows 7 users will be seeing as they make the journey from Beta to Release Candidate, you’d have thought that we’d heard the last of all that for a bit. But not so! It seems that Microsoft’s own Engineering Windows 7 blog will be letting the improvements trickle out as they are addressed. So brace yourself for some exciting plot twists, such as improvements to the taskbar thumbnail overflow and various jump lists, the trimming of sound schemes to enhance system performance, and our personal favorite, the addition of multitouch zoom to Windows Explorer. How cool is that? But there’s plenty more to this saga.

DropBox has to be one of the easiest ways to share files on multiple computers. After you install DropBox, there is a folder called “My Dropbox” located in your documents folder. When you place a file in that folder, it will be uploaded to the web and synchronized across multiple computers, if you have DropBox setup for them too. You can also create a folder and share files with friends.
We have a local community college in my area that is using DropBox to turn in classroom assignments. The great thing is that it works on Windows, Mac and Linux.
